Day 2 course was in an area with high climbs and steep downhill, which created some challenges for the wheelchair competitors and their assistants.  Despite the hard wind all flags remained quite stable and quite correctly, so no control deletions where seen on the final day.
Nobody scored full points, but totally 5 competitors got 21 points of 22, so the time controls where again the crucial ones.  The fastest time on Day 2 was performed by a young Norwegian,  Martin Jullum, who was 10 seconds faster than Pertti Hartman from Finland.  But since the individual competition included the total results from the two days, the winner of this year was Pertti Hartman (37 points, 78 s.), seconded by Stig Gerdtman from Sweden ( 37 points, 142 s.). Erik Lundqvist (SWE2) was third with 36 points and 124 seconds.

In the Nordic Team Event Sweden was the expected winner, but this time it was Team 2 who beat Team 1 and Sweden got the Challenge Trophy for the 10th time! Finland´s Team 1 came third.

Next year the NTE will be arranged in Sweden simultaneously with the European Mastership Games.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the weekend in Söderkulla, Sipoo, where the club If Sibbo-Vargarna has a long tradition in orienteering : Foot-O, Ski-O, MTBO and now also Trail-O.  Don´t miss to use the Feedback possibility for discussing the courses and the control points or any other issue regarding the competition, that might bother you.

Day 1 competition was performed in nice sunshine and for Finnish autumn conditions in quite a warm temperature, 17 - 18 oC.  The course with originally 17  + 2 controls, provided a lot of challenges as well for the competitors as for the course planner. At the end, due to various reasons, two controls were deleted : no. 3 and 5.

The result list turned out to be quite even with four competitors at  same points - 16 points of 17 possible. The crucial factor today was the time controls, where the total time set the order of the best fours : 1st Stig Gerdtman (SWE1) ( 4s. + 4s.), 2nd Erik Lundqvist (SWE2) (8s. + 5s.), 3rd Pertti Hartman (FIN1) ( 16s. + 14s.) and 4th Jukka Tani (FIN3), (74s. + 13s.).
